Shrimp Gari

|| Typical recipe from Cameroon. Cooking 10 min, meal for 4 people.


  • 1 bowl of gari
  • 500 g tomatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 2 touches  of Mayor extra-refined palm oil
  • 1/2 bowl of dried shrimp
  • chilli pepper
  • Salt


The gari is dried cassava semolina. If you can’t find a gari, you can probably replace it with semolina of wheat couscous and replace the dried shrimp with 1 bowl of shrimp that you will peel.

Soak the gari in 20 cl of water.

Peel and slice the onions . Wash and coarsely chop the tomatoes.

Heat Mayor extra-refined palm oil in a saucepan and melt the onions and tomatoes. Leave on high heat 5 min.

Wash the shrimp and let them drain.

Add the prawns and the gari with onions and tomatoes. Salt, spice and add 1 touch of hot water.

Cook 5 min, stirring constantly.

Let cool before serving.
